From Chicago roots to Austin homes
Hooked Up Installs was founded in 2005. What began with one person, one truck, and a clear belief in better service has grown into a residential technology company built on craft, care, and long-term client relationships.
From the beginning, the goal was simple: to give clients a more personal, capable alternative to the standard electronics installation experience. The team focused on listening closely, recommending what truly fit the home, and standing behind the work long after installation was complete.
Today, Hooked Up Installs brings over 21 years of service, more than 18 experienced professionals, and a deep portfolio of custom systems to the Austin market. The Austin location carries forward the same standards that shaped the Chicago branch, with in-house design, installation, programming, and support for luxury smart homes across Central Texas.

John Hooper
With over 15 years of experience in home technology and automation, John is passionate about smart home innovation. He's known for his attention to detail, calm problem-solving, and commitment to putting clients first.
John specializes in Lutron Lighting & Shades, Josh.ai, Control4, and security systems, with a strong focus on programming and integrating advanced automation platforms. And as a licensed alarm systems installer in Texas, he brings technical credibility to the Austin team while delivering thoughtful, client-focused service.
